SYMPHONY

Made by

V An

Turn a grid into your own tiny sound studio with SYMPHONY, a playful music creation game that makes building melodies feel effortless. Place notes across 32 time columns and 15 pitch rows, then watch the playback line bring your musical staircase to life. Try trumpet, piano, or cymbals, and hear each note as you add it. No music theory or instrument experience is needed; just click, drag, listen, and experiment. Load the demo for a quick idea, or start with a blank canvas and make a tune that feels like yours. When you are ready for another creative session, explore more grid-based creative tools.

How to Play SYMPHONY

1. Start with the central grid. Its columns represent time, while its rows represent pitches from C4 to C6. 2. Click or drag across the canvas to place notes. Each note plays a short preview as you draw, so you can shape a melody by ear. 3. Choose TRUMPET, PIANO, or CYMBALS to change the sound of your composition. 4. Press the play button to start the looping performance, then press it again to pause. The white playback line sweeps across the grid in a cycle of about eight seconds, highlighting notes as they sound. 5. Select DEMO to load and play a sample melody, or choose ERASE to clear the canvas and begin again. 6. When your tune is ready, select SHARE COMPOSITION to save an image of your grid along with its notes and instrument setting, then open the sharing options.

Tips & Tricks for SYMPHONY

Start with a short pattern instead of filling every column. A few well-spaced notes can make a catchy loop and are easier to refine. Try stepping upward or downward between neighboring rows to create a clear melodic shape. Change instruments after placing notes to compare how the same idea feels on trumpet, piano, and cymbals. Use the instant note preview while drawing, then listen to the full loop before adding more. The DEMO is a handy way to see how a simple pattern can move across the grid; erase it when you are ready to make your own. Save and share a favorite version before experimenting with a new one.
