From Ideas to a Community of 500,000
More than 500,000 people now use Sekai on an average day—and the community completes over 300,000 creations daily. This is how a platform for playable ideas is becoming a place people return to create, explore and connect.

Every creation starts with an idea.
It might be a game mechanic, an unexpected ending to a story, a quiz for friends or an interactive experience that does not fit into any existing category. Until recently, turning that idea into something playable usually required coding skills, specialized tools and a great deal of time.
Sekai was built around a different possibility: what if anyone could turn an idea into something people can play?
With Sekai, people can describe what they imagine and use AI to transform it into a playable mini-app. They can also discover what others have made, remix creations they love and share new experiences with friends.
What began with individual ideas is becoming a growing creative community.
A place people return to every day
In September 2026, more than 500,000 activated users used Sekai on an average day. Over the course of a month, 1.6 million activated users used the platform.
Sekai’s average daily activated user base is now more than 10 times larger than it was in January.
Growth tells only part of the story. What matters just as much is how people spend their time once they arrive.
Across the 13 weeks ending September 20, active users spent about an hour a day on Sekai, including time spent playing and creating. For many people, Sekai is becoming more than something to try once. It is becoming a place to return to, explore what is new and bring new ideas to life.
More people are coming back
Creative communities become stronger when people have a reason to return.
In January, daily activated users represented approximately 14% of Sekai’s monthly activated users. By September, that figure had grown to 31%.
Day-30 retention has also improved.
Of the new activated users who joined during the week of June 1–7, 11.1% were active on exactly their 30th day. Among those who joined during the week of August 3–9, that figure rose to 19.3%.
People are not simply experimenting with AI creation and moving on. They are finding experiences they enjoy, discovering other creators and returning to see what the community makes next.
More than 300,000 creations every day
The Sekai community now completes more than 300,000 creations a day.
As of August 23, more than 40 million builds had been completed on Sekai. These include original creations, unpublished experiments and new versions of existing work.
Behind those numbers are millions of creative decisions: a new game mechanic, a different story path, a surprising interaction or an idea that existed only in someone’s imagination moments earlier.
Creation is also only one part of how people participate.
Among accounts active on September 27, 47% had created something, remixed something or engaged with another person’s work during the previous 30 days:
- 17% made an original creation.
- 30% remixed, commented on, saved or shared someone else’s work.
A creative cycle is beginning to take shape. One person publishes an idea. Someone else discovers it, adds their own perspective and turns it into something new. Every creation can become the starting point for another.
The line between playing and creating is changing
Traditional game platforms tend to separate creators from players. A relatively small group builds the experience, while everyone else plays it.
AI is beginning to change that relationship.
On Sekai, someone can play an experience and immediately begin making one of their own. A simple description can become something interactive. A creation can be remixed in directions its original creator never expected.
Playing can lead to inspiration. Inspiration can become creation. Creation can invite someone else to participate.
We are still at the beginning of this journey. But more than 500,000 daily users, over 300,000 completed creations a day and a growing level of community participation suggest a new possibility.
The future of interactive content may not be created only by professional studios and development teams. It can also come from anyone with an idea and the desire to share it.
Everyone has an idea worth playing.
Sekai is here to help bring it to life.
How we measure
All figures are based on Sekai’s internal data.
An activated user is someone who, on their first day, played at least two different mini-apps for more than two minutes each. After activation, any app open counts as activity.
Daily users: Average daily activated users in September 2026.
Monthly users: Activated users who were active during the 30 days ending September 27, 2026.
Growth: Compares average daily activated users in January 2026, using the monthly average, with September 2026, using the weekly average.
Time spent: Average minutes per active user per day, including creating and playing, across the 13 weeks ending September 20, 2026. Individual use varies.
Daily versus monthly users: Daily activated users as a share of monthly activated users in January and September 2026. This indicates how often people return; it is not a retention rate.
Day-30 retention: Exact-day retention—the percentage of new activated users who joined during a given week and were active on exactly their 30th day. The rate was 19.3% for August 3–9, 15.3% for July 6–12 and 11.1% for June 1–7. These figures represent only the weekly groups shown, not all installs.
Daily creations: Completed creations per day during the week ending September 20, 2026, including unpublished creations and new versions.
Builds: Cumulative completed builds through August 23, 2026, including unpublished creations and new versions. This is not a count of creators or published mini-apps.
Participation: Based on accounts active in the Sekai mobile app on September 27, looking back 30 days. Seventeen percent made original creations, while 30% remixed, commented on, saved or shared other people’s work. Each account is counted once.
Sekai also has more than 5 million cumulative downloads on Google Play. Downloads are not active users.
